Daegu plans to restructure the local economy around the Water, Hi-tech Medical, Future Vehicles, Energy, Robot, and the newly selected Smart City industries as part of the “5+1 New Growth industries.” The new policies of the initiative aim to lead the convergence of technology with industry, and shift the current paradigm of manufacturing-oriented industries to a business-oriented paradigm centered around future industries that will change the structure of the local economy.
